Grosvenor House Afternoon Tea

Our fifth, and final afternoon tea in London during our March visit

was for my birthday at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane

across from Hyde Park in Mayfair.

My gluten free tea server is on the left

Kensington Palace Afternoon Tea

 This is another post of afternoon tea in London in March.

Afternoon Tea at the Kensington Palace was held in the Pavilion

during the renovations of the Orangery.

The china is the Historic Royal Palaces Fine Bone China,

made in England and is for sale in the palaces official gift shops

This afternoon tea followed our tour of the palace

and a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum.



Fortnum and Mason Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Tea at Fortnum and Mason was delightful during our March visit.

The servings were plentiful and delicious.

Glenn's tea tray is on the left and my gluten free is on the right.

The tea rooms were all booked and very busy.

 

 

 

 



 

 

London Afternoon Tea Bus Tour

During our week in London in March, we took the vintage Brigit's Afternoon Tea Bus Tour,

and thoroughly enjoyed the 90 minute excursion and delicious food.

Glenn and I highly recommend this fun excursion in London.

I made online reservations weeks before.



Afternoon Tea at the Browns Hotel

 

This week I am posting a review of our afternoon teas in London in March 2019.

The Brown's Hotel in London had been on my list for quite some time.
The tea room is very traditional with dark wood paneling.  

The contemporary rose patterned china is by Wedgwood.

 

My gluten free sandwiches are on the top tier and

Glenn's gluten-filled sandwiches are on the middle and bottom tiers.

Yes, gluten-filled is our "made-up" term to distinguish his food from my gluten free.

Second-helpings of sandwiches were offered.

My sandwiches were very good

 His were a little more artistic than the GF.

 

The scones and sweets were served on four levels,

with his on the bottom two.

Notice the monogramed napkin on the scones.

 My sweets were on the top tier.
