Keeneland in October

October in this part of Kentucky means Keeneland's Fall Race Meet
runs for three weeks, October 4 - 26 (with no racing on Monday or Tuesday).
Located in Lexington, Kentucky the "Horse Capital of the World."
Lexington is surrounded by over 400 horse farms and is the home
of the 1,200 acre Kentucky Horse Park which attracts
over a million visitors a year.



We attended a wonderful fundraiser for the Hindman Settlement School

on Friday, October 18, including brunch, speakers and silent auction

and a table trackside with a buffet lunch.

Our friends, Cheryl and Randy, attended with us.

 Glenn retired September 2018 and Randy retired September 2019.



Keeneland in the Spring

 Keeneland, opened in 1936 and includes the Keeneland Racecourse, a Thoroughbred horse racing facility, and a sales complex, both in Lexington, Kentucky. 

They hold a spring and fall meet of only a few weeks.

The Keeneland 2019 Spring meet ran April 4 - 26. 

Melissa, Glenn and I attended with a group of Berea College alumni on April 24th.

The top photo includes Melissa, me, Robert, Huie and Glenn, all BC alumni.

Huie works at Keeneland and is dressed in the Keeneland uniform.

 It was a beautiful spring day in Kentucky.

The spring meet leads up to the Kentucky Derby,

the first Saturday in May.  The 2019 fall meet will be October 4 - 26.
