Travel Day - Not

This was the day we were scheduled to depart for our third journey to Ireland.
It's not happening in 2020.  Hopefully, next year.

D-Day 75th Anniversary - 2019

These are a few of my photos and memories from our 2017 visit to Normandy.
Above: mural at the Memorial de Caen, a must-visit museum.
~Allied Invasion of Normandy~
On June 6, 1944 some 7,000 Naval vessels including battleships, destroyers and assault craft,
attacked German positions on the Normandy coast and landed more than 132,000
American soldiers and Allied ground troops on the 50-mile stretch of Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword beaches.  The planning of this invasion began in 1943.

Below: craters from bombs dropped

Steep cliffs surrounded Omaha, the bloodiest of the D-Day beaches
with roughly 2,400 U.S. troops dead, wounded or missing.

Traveling with Tea

Do you take tea when you travel?
Above are some of my family's favorite Harney and Sons loose leaf teas
in sachets which are conveniently packaged individually for travel.
And, I often pack my own bone china mug and take on travels.
Drinking tea from china tastes better, don't you agree?
And, depending on the destination and accommodations, where we are staying,
such as a condo or cabin, I have been known to take my own electric tea kettle.
